I'm back!!! Before I starts with trail of stories (and I've got PLENTY!), I guess I should get all my drafts published.
Breastfeeding is almost the most talked about topic for new mom, I guess... so just bare with me... I'm not telling you it's gonna be easy, I'm telling you it's gonna be worth it.
As a matter of fact, being able to breastfeed is a blessing. Not everybody is blessed to do so. Everybody has their own challenges & limitations. So let's not judge anybody and just do our best to provide the best for our baby. Each drop of milk dah dijanjikan pahalanya.
To exclusively breastfeed, we need to be strong - mentally & physically. Getting good support from people around us is a bonus. Dealing with the crowd who has low awareness & knowledge on exclusive breastfeeding is never easy, but the good thing is the awareness is spreading. Pekakkan telinga, butakan mata to those people who offer advises on how you should feed your baby but at the same time showing their lack of knowledge & awareness. Equip yourself with knowledge, books, pamphlet and whatever it takes to support your point and divine intention.

But please, do not freak out when somebody give some water to your newborn. I personally think, a few drops will never harm your baby. You know when it comes to a point when you have to tolerate those elderly who know more because they've been living longer, kinda situation. Banyak hati kena jaga, unless they're open minded and willing to learn, tak perlulah kita share/tunjuk pandai lebih2. After all, they 'know' better.
I'm not against formula milk, it's just that it should be our last option. Try our best to boost up the milk production, join support groups like Kumpulan Ibu Menyusu (KIM) or susuibu.com, cari petua, try everything, turn to Lactation Councillor, if you must. If all else fails, then only opt for formula. And if you are only supplementing, do not rely on it. Do you noticed on every formula milk packaging, there is a statement saying :
"Susu ibu adalah makanan terbaik untuk bayi"?
EVERY brand, EVERY packing.
Well, we should always show that to those people
who 'know' better.
Personally, I never knew it could be such a hard work to keep a pumping schedule (when you're not always working from your desk) or even waking up for the night pumping session when you're all tired from the day workload.
*Why do i sound like I'm complaining here?
Ok, my point is that it's not that easy. At least for me.
I wonder how other moms do it, always on the go, dealing with the working schedule, and yet manage to produce a heapful of EBM
to fill their deep freezer. *envy*
Again, I'm not against formula milk or those who formula feed their babies. I have my personal challenge and I will continue on the next post...
And here's something for us to ponder :
Diriwayatkan bahawa 'Amr bin Abdullah berkata kepada isterinya yang sedang menyusui anaknya -
Janganlah engkau menyusui bayimu seperti haiwan menyusui anaknya. Haiwan pun menyusui anaknya kerana kasih sayang. Akan tetapi, susuilah bayimu dengan niat mengharap redha Allah dan agar dengan air susumu ini hiduplah seorang makhluk yang mentauhidkan Allah dan beribadah kepadanya.
