The chronicles

I figured it's more bearable reading something dry in point form.
And I'm all inspired by Sara's Life Lessons!
So here goes :

22 June 2011
1. Scrubbed the toilet floor while taking my morning shower. (Heard some says doing so will escalate the delivery… I’m all determined! ;P)

2. Filled up a bottle of air rendaman akar Siti Fatimah lent by a Chief Clerk at my office. Googled about it the day before and found that it can be drank once we hit 7th month of pregnancy.
*Do not take my words. Read the whole post.

3. Went to work. Took time off at 11 a.m for weekly checkup at KK.

4. Asked the nurse the tips for early delivery. She told me something interesting. Was planning for it later that nite ;)

5. A wanted to drop by the clinic. He was on his way to the office… (Yeah, yeah, it was 12 noon, how lucky!)

6. But I was done with the checkup. Jumped in his ride and asked him to taste the air rendaman (Yeah I brought it along…)

7. He said it was yucky. The smell it is.

8. I kept sipping.

9. Continued working. Went for Zohor prayer about 3.30 p.m. Sitting down. Felt liquid flowing. NOT gushing. No pain.

10. Continued working. Figured that my bontot basah sikit. And so my chair. Odourless & colourless. Still no pain.

11. Posted a FB status.

12. Received some feedbacks from friends doctors. Planned for check up at the hospital that nite.

13. Abis keja balik rumah masak kentang goreng. Lapar la…

14. Nasrah called. Gossiped. (sempat lagi… haha!)

15. Went to the hospital at 9.30 p.m.

16. Seluk itu sakit!!!

17. Dipasangkan alat CTG. Graf tak cantik. Nurse tanya, “Awak ada minum air selusuh ke apape? Baby macam bergolak.”

18. Saya jawab, “Err, air akar Siti Fatimah.” She looked away and said, “Kita tak galakkan…”

19. Opps!!!

20. Was admitted that nite. Masih blur.


23 June 2011
1. Contacted a friend doctor. She explained that I might be induced and it would be safe since I was already in 38 weeks.

2. Got pitocin (INDUCE drug) at 2.30 p.m.

3. Start sakit pinggang at 4.30 p.m.

4. Check up at 8.30 p.m. Seluk itu sakit!!! 2 cm opening.
Was offered the painkiller. Thought I can hold it longer so I decided I would take it later – so the effect lasted longer.

5. I figured why the doc & nurse didn't make eye contact when I blurted out, "I'll take it later. Would want to be able to sleep tonite". Yeahh, riteee.

6. Wanted painkiller at 10.30 p.m.

7. Nurse came to do CTG (procedure before giving painkiller). Graf tak cantik due to contraction. Seluk itu sakit!!! 6cm opening. Tak sempat painkiller!

8. To the labour room about 11++ p.m.

9. Dah tak sempat nak pasang segala mak nenek tiub, wire, mesin semua. Seluk itu sakit!!! Induced contraction lagi sakit!!!

10. 11.49 p.m. – I heard the sweetest baby cry.
Alhamdulillah.
p/s: Baby keluar dah tak sakit ;)

For leaking cases (more than 24 hours before delivery), memang kena admit for 48 hours to monitor the baby in case ada infection. In my case, baru je cukup 48 hours post-delivery, baby kuning pulak... So we had to continue staying for the next 3 days.

Having to stay longer than expected is demoralizing. Heh. I decided to keep quiet and just enjoy my alone time with my newborn. Sorry for all the unanswered phone calls & texts. It was handful but I gotta say I enjoyed every moment of it!
