Perplexed enough?

Now that I'm already in my 32 weeks,
I think I should be writing more about pregnancy and preparation for the arrival of Q&A jr...


When somebody ask me, dah berapa bulan?
I find myself contemplating option of answers to give.

32 weeks = 8 months, no?

Ye lah, 32 ÷ 4 = 8. But the week is calculated from the 1st day of your last menses - when obviously the baby is not yet formed, bukan the date that you conceive (mcm la boleh tahu the exact date of conceive, kan? *ehem ;P). So I find it quite misleading when I say I'm 8 months pregnant and my due date is 2 months down the road.

8 + 2 = 10 bulan. Bunting gajah kah? Haha.
(Ape ke laut sgt ni? Hehe.)

Padahal logik la kan, full term 40 weeks = 10 bulan.
Walaupon all this while we were told : normally
ibu mengandungkan kita selama 9 bulan 10 hari...
(mcm tutorial matematik plak arini...)

Anyway, so instead of saying 8 bulan, I answer 7 bulan setengah. Or the lower threshold - 7 bulan.
Coz it can be hard trying to explain all those medical terms
in layman words...


And the other thing is the gender.
Honestly we ourselves are eager to know.

Tapi setiap kali scan tak nampak sebab baby rapatkan kaki... and doctor pernah cakap it could be a girl, but I don't wanna risk buying all the cute lil pinky stuff (though they are sooooooooo tempting) and having my baby boy (50% of the chances) being dolled up in pink. Lucky I do prefer green & brown lately instead of neither pink nor blue...

I did try Ancient Chinese Gender prediction but it is meant to be calculated in Chinese lunar months (for month of conception) and Chinese lunar year (for our age during conception). But the sites gave several confusing outcomes so I decided to ditch 'em all together...

Anyhow, I'm up for the surprise!
